Yea for May!

As hoped, the weather has definitely improved over April. Although we still have the periodic winter day, they seem fewer and farther between. For example, one day we got near 70, and the kids requested swim suits and water play! (But do notice the dark clouds in the sky...) First water gun fights of the season!

We've learned to take what we can get! But short sleeves are definitely a welcome change to the wardrobe. Snowmelt is keeping the falls running high, too. Oh, and see Hadley's dirty feather find? Ick.

Even Canada geese seem less offensive when they are accompanied by their little yellow goslings. Just keep your distance or the parents will defend their babies!

Big news at the zoo is the arrival of an adorable little lion cub. He had to be separated from his parents for a minor health issue, so until he's a little bigger, he's with a Great Pyrenees who is teaching him some social behaviors.

There's also a new baby camel, which is a fairly scruffy and awkward-looking animal.

In other news, someone has discovered how to take pictures on my phone from the locked screen, so I've been finding gems like this one from a park picnic.

It feels like summer is getting close, especially with the after-school activities that we have been shedding, like gymnastics and music. Owen's music teacher held her year-end recital, and Owen was even featured on the auto-harp. (He's in red, and yes, the song is in Spanish. Sadly, Hadley didn't get to do a recital since her teacher moved.)
