Slow January

I kicked off the New Year by finishing up a job that we started in November 2019 when we had pros come and paint the two story foyer, but left the side of the stairs the original dark tan. We were waiting to figure out the open formal living room before painting, but I got tired of waiting. I just taped a line under the opening for a stopping point and went for it. So at least our foyer isn't clashing two-toned anymore, and the formal office is on the horizon!

We had a chance to meet up with the Colorado branch of the family when they were in town. We met up at a brewery for food, drinks, and a quick game of Telestrations before Aunt Loni and Uncle Lampe had to catch their flight.

We actually had some cold days, which were good for cuddling with the cat (resident lap warmer and heat seeker) and/or blankets.

But when she can't find a lap in the afternoon, she's been known to get a recharge from the sun.

Owen took a sports break in December, but flag football started up in January. They play 6-on-6, and there are no running backs, everyone is a receiver. They've been fun to watch and are undefeated so far! Games are at night, so we bundle under blankets on the sideline.

January was a slow month for events, so here's Owen's biggest Lego build to date (and a peek at my Christmas present in the background - gas logs!).
