Teen Titan

December is always so busy, but we make time to celebrate this guy's birthday! This year was a special one - he's now officially a teenager! Hard to believe.

Some things never change though - he requested sushi (conveyor belt place again), cookie cake and Legos, per usual.

Although his birthday was during finals week, it was followed up by an early dismissal Friday. For his party, he invited friends to play football and soccer at a park that afternoon. It started off great, with everyone able to come, and it wasn't too hot.

But not long into it, the dark clouds rolled in with a cold front and let loose rain! It wasn't quite a downpour, but it was more than a sprinkle, and we didn't really have a Plan B. This was not in the forecast! Luckily, the boys just went with it. Shirts came off, and they just kept going, while I scrambled to keep the food and clothes dry under a nearby cover.

J went out to get pizza and swung by the house to get all the towels. Thankfully, by the time he came back, the rain was mostly over, and we had (almost) enough towels to go around. I'm so glad these boys made the best of it and still had a good time (and no pneumonia)!
