Baby Gear

We've been enjoying the gorgeous weather of the past few days by going on afternoon walks. Owen's usually lulled to sleep until I hit a big crack in the sidewalk. :) Thanks Oma and Opa for the stroller!

Owen also likes an occasional turn in the swing, as evidenced here by his smile (elusive and difficult to capture on film). Thanks Granna and Grandad!

I made several other attempts to get him to smile for the camera, but failed miserably. But here's a close-up out of those attempts.

Likes and Dislikes

We discovered that Owen really likes being carted around in a sling, so John got a simulated glimpse of what it was like to carry him around in utero for a while. (We like it too - it helps to calm him, and we can get stuff done hands-free.)

"Tummy time" is less popular. Did I mention that his head circumference measured in the 90th percentile? It's hard work to swing that thing around!

5 weeks old plus a little

I've been contemplating a blog for probably the last 6 months or so. In true procrastination, I've finally decided to give it a shot. Mostly, I think it's great for the out-of-town relatives. But, with that said, I'm not sure how this is going to go or how well I'll keep up with it...

He likes to sleep on his new elephant pillow. (Don't tell the pediatrician!) We only use it for naps.

Oma gave him a rainbow of shoe-like socks. How stylish is he? Thanks Oma!

This one reminds me of Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure for some reason. I know he has so much to say - can't wait 'til he can verbalize it.
