Birthday and Christmas Revisited

Just wanted to add some more holiday pictures, starting with my two couch spies.

I love his wind-blown hair in this one. :)

The famous foot-in-the-icing stance to end his birthday cake tasting. (Totally unprompted while we were cleaning him up and removing him from his high chair)

He's still in the "empty everything out" phase, so Aunt Loni and Daniel kept him busy by refilling his milk truck over and over. No trouble with his milk supply! :)

A Very Peterson Christmas

Merry Christmas! This year we hosted Christmas at our house. There was lots of family in and around between O's birthday and Christmas. Oma and Grandpa stayed at our house. It was great to see Owen (and the cats) become more familiar and comfortable with his grandparents over the week. Bonus: I got to run errands untethered, which was really nice! Here are some picture highlights from the week. (I may add some video after I cull through what we've got.)

Playing with birthday blocks

See what I meant about the cats becoming comfortable? :)

Birthday Pictures

Before we get to the fun stuff, the facts: he was a champ at the doctor's office, despite waiting around in naught but a diaper for >40 minutes! He's 50th % for height and weight, but 80th % for head size. :) And, he's gotten in 3 of his one-year molars this week for a total of 9 teeth!

Now, for some highlights from the birthday festivities (mostly involving a self-inflicted chocolate icing full-body scrub).

Not sure what to make of these boxes.

Testing out the wheels on everything.

"What? Where did he come from?"

His very own portable, fringe-y pillow!

The day's haul. You did well, son!

He hated the birthday crown! It lasted for one picture.

Blowing out the birthday candle.

The birthday cake, pre-massacre. (It's supposed to be a wheel. Can you tell?)

Really not understanding what he's supposed to do with the cake.

After we gave him a taste, he got the idea! Mikey likes it! (These were all taken before he started rubbing his chest, hair, and thighs with his icing-covered hands.)

All of the grandparents together. We are so glad you could all be present for the celebration! P.S. Could one of you please send the picture where he put his foot in the icing? We were on clean up duty and missed the photo op. :)

Happy First Birthday!!!

365 days later, I can say that Owen has truly changed my life (for the better). Thanks, Little Man. Happy birthday!

(I'll post more from the birthday festivities later in the week after we've recovered.)

Hey Santa!

Our neighborhood had a Christmas party today in the park with Santa. Owen's met Santa twice already! But, he's not a big fan...

Luckily, they also have a sand volleyball court at the park, which he loved. Hello, Sandy Diaper!

We walked to the party in the stroller. To give you an idea of his obsession with wheels, this is how he spends most of the walk - hanging over the side checking out the rolling motion!

On a related note, here's some pictures of Owen with his real hero: Daddy!

Walker, Texas Baby

There's no turning back now - we have a walker on our hands! Here's a video montage of his constant motion. He's even looking like a future soccer player, just like his daddy.

One of the most entertaining things in the house? The trash can! Well, mostly the swinging lid to the trash can. Guess we'll have to hide this once he starts digging down into it.

And he was making faces at me when he spied me through the mesh of his pack'n'play. Too funny! (Neither of us is in it, just looking through it.)

P.S. Big thanks to my parents for watching him last week, while we were out of town!! Our first nights apart from the little guy. I think he really perfected his walking at the ranch, especially with socks on.

Fuzzy Thing 1

Just thought this was a cute picture. We broke out the footed pajamas recently. They don't mix well with a new walker and hardwoods, but they sure are cute! Thanks Aunt Chantelle for being so crafty!
