New Skills

We've turned a corner! Owen is finding that stacking things and putting them back in their container is an interesting new twist from emptying everything.

Another recent development is him seeming to pretend things. It was really amusing to watch him open this compartment on his activity table and pretend to throw and eat things out of it. At least, that's what we think he was doing...?

We also finally gave up on the baby tub, since he was probably way too big for it. Owen tried out the real tub and loved it! Added bonus - no swim trunks required for the adult. :)

Here's some more footage of him cutting a rug. It's random, but he'll dance to the radio, his toys, and plain ol' singing. We love it! (As you can probably tell from the spot on his forehead, he took a header on the sidewalk! Baby's first band-aid.)

Lastly, I just liked this picture...

13 months!

Yeah, I'm a few days late. I don't have measurements, but he sure seems to be getting heavier and taller! Those fingertips curl over the top of the kitchen table now and grab anything within a couple of inches of the edge. The adults are enjoying this age, although we've seen glimpses of the toddler days ahead. (Hello, fickle tastebuds!)

His toys keep him entertained for a few minutes...

Playing with the couch monster - he's not fooled!

We call his newest favorite pasttime Spider-Baby (complete with theme song). He loves walking up our legs to get a higher vantage point!

Babies in Motion

It's really hard to get a picture of 4 babies all together to stay still and face the camera! The phrase "herding cats" comes to mind. Anyway, we had a baby playgroup at our house yesterday, and I tried to get some photographic evidence...

This is (clockwise from the adult): Amelia, Maria, Zachary, James and Owen

And "Action!"

Actually all looking at the camera!

Cute, right? And then there were two...

The force is strong with this one.

Especially when he needs to move shoes to use the basket as his personal Millenium Falcon.

The Entertainer

Owen's become pretty entertaining over the last month or so (not that he wasn't before!). Here's his favorite new face. It's used when he drinks something cold, hears a catchy tune, and at just about every other random moment he deems it appropriate.

He also started to dance out of the blue when he heard a tune from his newest ride-on toy. This is mid-dance, but he had us all cracking up! Where did he learn this?! :) He was taking it very seriously, but you can see he's a little dizzy by the end.

Other pictures from my parents' and brother's short visit.

We like Uncle Michael!

One of my parents' friends made this rocking chair for Owen! (notice the face)

If you look closely, you can see one of his molars back in there.

In other news, he was a pretty picky eater for the last two weeks of December. Not sure if we can point the fingers at teething, affinity to birthday cake, or holiday chaos, but he seems to be eating like a champ again. Thanks Goodness! Although now he seems to be either asleep or eating. Maybe another growth spurt...? Guess we'll find out!
