OK, back to Texas... Continuing our stay in Houston, O and H got a lot of quality time with Uncky Dan and Aunt Jenn.
We fed the neighborhood ducks and ran when the bread was gone!
We were happy to join in the domesticity of the weekend. Owen liked to assist Chef Jenn in the kitchen, and Hadley just liked to stand on the step stool when he was done. Side note: Aunt Jenn makes a mean prime rib! Yum!
The kids took every opportunity to "help" and be entertained by people other than their parents.
The Mr. and I got a lovely dinner date when Uncky and Aunt baby-sat for us one night. Peli Peli, by the way, is fantastically delicious. If you ever have a chance...
We enjoyed neighborhood walks to another fun playground.
We even had a mini-Christmas before we had to go.
And I got to catch up with some old college pals, too.
Thanks Houston for housing/employing so many that we know and for your big-city opportunities that we don't get in our little city. Here's a picture I took of the kids in the car on the way to the ranch. Hadley was getting antsy at being in the car past bedtime, so Owen took her hand to comfort her. How sweet is that?
