On another academic note, Owen's current occupational fascination is with the electric company and linemen. I think this is because they are currently widening the road in front of his school and relocating all the power lines. When he draws, it is often of electric lines, and he says he wants to be a lineman when he grows up.
The second half of May has been pretty soggy, which is unusual for this area, but Owen has been enjoying soccer outside anyway. They play 3-on-3, and you should see his face during a game. Totally focused. He has scored several goals, but sometimes instead of trying to steal the ball back, he'll just run back to defend the goal directly. Owen is #2 on Green. The hardest thing about an hour of practice/game is keeping Hadley out of trouble, while trying to also see some of the game.
'Tis the season for Bear World again. We went earlier in the month to get our season passes.
The kids still love the rides, so we are set for summer. Oddly enough, the adorable new bear cubs were out and about, but the kids hardly even noticed them.
This car ride cracks me up. It just goes in a circle and bounces up and down, but they love it!!! Every time around they were making different faces and car sounds. Very serious driving to be done here.
We'll have to work on Hadley's line etiquette.
The highlight for me was the show this peacock was putting on for a few pea hens. He had his tail splayed out for at least 15 minutes and would rattle it like a rattlesnake. It was kind of hypnotizing.
The kids also went to the dentist for check-ups and joined the no-cavity club. Hadley actually fully participated this time! X-rays and all.
Their dentist's office is movie-themed and has movies playing on the ceiling for them while they are getting their teeth cleaned. Hence the sunglasses and headphones. Hadley loved it...
but Owen always requests they turn it off before he lies down, because he doesn't like movies. Side note: his second bottom tooth is barely hanging on and he's got his top two 6-year molars coming in already!
Lastly, we always make time for our friends!
