8 is Enough

Owen turned 8! One perk of having a birthday near Christmas is that it was the last day of school, which meant pajamas, movies, and treats all day. Even Bo got to go along as Owen's pillow! I always wonder about pajamas on a snowy playground at recess (who's idea was this?), but so far it's been okay.

He requested an ice cream cake with pro football teams on it. He couldn't decide between two of them, so he had both. According to him, his face in this picture is supposed to reflect his desire to eat the cake and the self-restraint he's having to use not to lick it while being so close. 

These pictures aren't even staged. This is where we are now. He cares about his presents! Clothes are out, video games are in. Ugh.

One of his requested gifts was Battleship. I had to laugh when I saw his board at the end. He was keeping track of all of my guesses, as well as his own. No wonder he kept running out of pegs! We love this kid! He is so smart, handsome, and funny. Just don't look in his messy room...
