Coeur D'Alene, Day 2 - Spokane

On Day 2, we headed out to investigate Spokane, Washington.  Our first stop was a stroll around the Gonzaga campus, which was quiet on a summer Sunday morning.

The landscaping was well maintained, and they had some interesting architecture and a beautiful church.

We did enjoy the peaceful quiet and...

...took some time to stop and smell the roses. :)

When the kids were bored of peace and quiet, we promenaded over to and around Riverfront Park where there were some more interesting sights.

The most interesting of which was the giant Radio Flyer slide.

The kids enjoyed playing under it just as much as they did sliding down it, especially our little monkey climber.

Oh, there were also some waterfalls on the Spokane River nearby.

I'm a fan of totem poles, but this one was missing any explanation of its significance or symbols, which was unfortunate.

After a late lunch at No-Li Brewery, we headed back to CDA for some rest and a low-key evening.  We enjoyed some walks in the neighborhood where our rental was located.  It was older and full of a mix of updated or well-maintained Craftsman-style homes and some originals that needed a loving touch. The best part was Owen insisting on pushing Hadley in the stroller for the whole walk.  Love it!
