We headed down I-15 toward California to get some sun and family. What a scenic highway, especially through Utah and Arizona.
Since we opted to drive the 14+ hours, we added a new kids' tablet to our repertoire and unleashed it in the car. They loved it, and the time in the car was pretty smooth sailing! They are getting to be great little travelers.
Our first stop was in St. George, Utah where it was nearing 90 degrees. The kids were so excited to put on shorts and explore a bit after dinner.
We found a tidy city park not too far away, but the playground was being repaired. Fortunately, it also had this unique, red dirt hill, and the kids were clambering up it before I could tell them not to. That's Owen at the top. Unfortunately, he tried to run his way down and ended up rolling head over heels for the last bit and got some serious scrapes on his first day of vacation.
From there, it was on to Oceanside the next day to convene with family at our cute, Craftsman-style beach hideaway. All together for the first time in nearly 4 years!
