It's Farmers' Market season again! Yahoo! The kids love the kettle corn samples, and we just peruse the stalls until something interests us.
This time we let the kids get their first (?) face paints. Owen chose a shark. Hadley did too, but with a little more prodding, decided she really wanted a butterfly. She said flowers when the artist asked though, and when she saw the finished product she said, "That's not a butterfly!" Too many decisions...
After shopping, we ventured across the bridge to Owen's favorite park by the river. We have a Japanese sister city, so they have made this park feel like a Japanese garden with some of the plantings and gifts on display.
This weekend also marked Owen's last soccer game of the spring. We enjoyed the outdoor AYSO much better than the indoor YMCA version, but will probably wait a year to get into the older age bracket for more structure and skill development. Owen had fun, but did get a little frustrated when his team got dominated a couple of times. There were some pretty little ones on our team, and we had to keep reminding them which direction to go all season. :) The coach got trophies made on his own dime, and even gave one to Asst. Coach John! Great job, boys!
